We take the Panamerican Highway South, to start ascending the large Iztaru. On the top of the volcano you can observe the main craters and on a clear day both Atlantic and Pacific Oceans can be seen.

As we descend to the city of Cartago we will stop at the Virgin of the Angels Basilica that according to religious custom is a peregrination site for many believers.

After visiting the Basilica we will stop at Lankaster Gardens, a University of Costa Rica Center for investigation that protects more than 800 species of orchids, bromeliads and countless species of other plants.

We will continue to the Valley of Orosi where creation overflows in unparallel beauty. We will be able to visit one of the few remaining colonial churches and we will stop for lunch in one of the local restaurants.

During our tour we will be able to observe La Casa Del Soñador an example of Costa Rican primitive art.

Our third stop is beautiful Grecia. Considered one of the cleanest towns of Latin America, it is home of the only Metal Church in Central America and a national monument that fills its inhabitants with pride. In order to catch a glimpse of local lifestyle we will also visit the central market area.

Our last stop is Sarchi, known as the Cradle of Costa Rican Artisans because of its fine workshops. Here we will have time to enjoy the artistic work of the local artisans as they create the famous typical oxcart and you will be able to shop for that special souvenir to take home.

With over 3.5 kilometers of walking trails, we recommend a minimum of 1 1/2 hours reserved for your stay. However, if you would like to see every trail and thoroughly enjoy the time spent in the Butterfly Observatory, Hummingbird Gardens and our new bird watching areas, you will probably want to stay the whole day. Waterfall Gardens is a primarily a self-guided tour allowing our visitors to proceed directly to their areas of interest. If you would rather have a guide for your group, we can offer one for an additional charge with an advance reservation. “What if it rains?” This is the Rainforest for goodness sake! Seriously, sometimes it does rain here and sometimes it doesn´t stop! However, we do offer raincoats for sale and our trails are designed so you will have places to stop and take cover.

 Carara National Park is referred to as a transition forest because it includes two types of forest: dry forest to the north and rain forest to the south. Visitors will enjoy a wealth of flora and fauna gracing the plains and hills of the area. Rivers and marshes in the park are home to a diverse population of reptiles and amphibians. The forested areas are alive with monkeys, armadillos, peccaries, pacas, and small cats. Bird lovers will enjoy the sight of such exotic specimens as pink crane and anhinga, waterfowl such as roseate spoonbills, jacanas, pied-billed grebes and Mexican tiger-bitterns. This is one of only two areas in Costa Rica where scarlet macaws can be seen.

The entire trip lasts approximately 90 minutes. The principal destination is a lookout point from which one can observe Arenal Lake and Arenal Volcano as well as the nature reserves of Monteverde, along with other marvels.

We depart early in the morning in our comfortable van from Dominical, taking the Costanera Highway along the Pacific Ocean for about 90 minutes to Sierpe. We will then take a comfortable 90 minute boat ride through the largest area of mangrove swamps in Central America to Caño Island. We will hope to see Humpback, Pilot and Killer Whales along the way.   When we get to the park our bilingual naturalist guide will lead you on a 3 hour walking tour of a pristine primary forest. The hike ends at the rangers station where we will provide a delicious picnic lunch surrounded by rich natural atmosphere.

We will launch our kayaks at Playa Piñuelas, a short 30 minute drive from. Along the way we may stop to watch birds, monkeys, sloths, etc. Aside from exuberant flora and fauna you will also see breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean. At the put-in, our bilingual guides will tell you all about the park´s history and teach you important safety techniques. We do our best to make sure that you get what you expect from the tour and will provide you the safest equipment available.   An easy 1½ hour paddle brings us to Ballena Island where a lunch of fruit and cold drinks in tropical style will be provided. We will then snorkel around the island, observing the richest marine fauna in the area.

Departing from Dominical, heading north for about 7 kilometers on the Costanera Highway we will arrive at the Hatillo Mangrove Swamps next to Guapil Beach. We may stop along the way to view sloths, toucans or monkeys. At the put-in spot your guide will give safety instructions and will explain to you the grand significance of this environment. We will then introduce you to an easy, 3 hour paddle through the canals discovering the beauty and the great variety of fauna that this estuary offers. The tour´s departure time depends upon the tide.

This tour leaves from La Fortuna mornings or afternoons to enjoy a pleasant time of kayaking on Lake Arenal and breathtaking views of the Arenal Volcano. Arenal Lake is the largest and most important lake in Costa Rica, it was man made in 1974 to provide hydroelectric energy for the country.  It is also a place where you can find different kinds of resident and migratory birds.  Sometimes mammals can be seen in the surroundings. Experience the beautiful flora and fauna native to Costa Rica, while learning and/or using basic kayak techniques, along the lake.  On our trip you may observe different species of birds like the Flycatcher, Kingfisher, Great Blue Heron and Aninga and may also possibly hear the Howler monkeys.
